I always admired Shel Silverstein.  He wrote this song.  When I found that out I was amazed.  “Queen of the Silver Dollar” was first recorded by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show.  Then Emmylou Harris made it one of her signature songs.  All versions of the song, and there are many, are considered in the light of Emmy’s version.

I really like Black Prairie, although they haven’t recorded widely so far, just a couple of albums to date.

I really, really like Sarah Jarosz and I think she will be a big star.

So here we have the one and only thing that brings all three together!  Sarah and Black Prairie do Mr. Silverstein proud.  A great song, a great songwriter, and a great vocalist and a great band.  That officially make this track  great.  Enjoy Sarah Jarosz and Black Prairie with “Queen of the Silver Dollar,” which is our song of the day.  HL
