“Rusty Old American Dream” by David Wilcox
Click here to download the mp3
With the Indy 500, The Nascar World 600, and Formula 1 racing around the streets of Monaco this weekend, HarryShots is putting the automobile on a pedestal, and our Song of the Day comes from David Wilcox, with “Rusty Old American Dream.” It’s a great song, told from a rusty old car’s perspective. It’s high energy and probably David’s best.
The track comes from the Fast Folk Musical Magazine and I want to note, with sadness, the passing of Richard Meyer, at the age of 59. He was never famous like Fast Folk alums Suzanne Vega and Shawn Colvin. Instead Richard was a songwriter, performer, and musical archivist. It is with sorrow that we acknowledge his passing earlier this week.
Enjoy David Wilcox and “Rusty Old American Dream.” HL
