Too many have forgotten about Buddy Holly, the kid from Lubbock, TX who died so long ago in the same plane crash in February, 1959, in Iowa, that claimed the lives of J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) , Ritchie Valens (famous for his recording La Bamba). Don McLean wrote is famous musical peaen, American Pie about the accident.
Buddy Holly was an early rock pioneer and songwriter who had major airplay and influenced generations to follow. My Morning Jacket contributes a song to the Buddy Holly Tribute album, and that song, “True Love Ways” is the Song of the Day at HarryShots.com. Enjoy. HL
