Listen my children and you shall hear…one of the great Rock and Roll songs ever recorded.     Ever recorded.

“Calling Mr. H. Pie to the witness stand.  Mr. Humble Pie.  Could you please swear upon this Bible that this “Thirty Days In The Hole” is among the great rock and roll songs of all time?   ‘Without a doubt it is, Chief Justice Roberts!”

A false start and the band’s laughter is how this song begins, but the tape keeps rolling ( one of the cool quirks of this amazing hit ).  Some versions clean the intro up, but this is the live in-studio outtake version that I love the most. Crank up the volume for a better contact high. What more can you ask of a song?
Humble Pie, arrived on the scene with Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott.   Their British rock sound was a part of FM Underground radio.  “Thirty Days In The Hole” came out in 1972.

Here is Humble Pie with Thirty Days In The Hole,” our Song of the Day.    HL
