Happy Fourth of July.  America’s Day of Independence.  This year also the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812.  Here is a musical and cultural icon and a truly great American, Pete Seeger, with “America The Beautiful.” 

While today is a time for family, BBQ, and fireworks, let’s all take time to  pay tribute to that which made us a great melting pot of freedom and democracy;  where helping our neighbors becomes a way of life;  where government works for all the people; where everyone can have health care without regard to how much money they have in the bank;  where our leaders foster a prosperous middle class and will not turn their back on those Americans who are less fortunate; and where our national values aren’t based on politics and division.  Have a Safe and Happy 4th.   HL
